UPDATE JULY 24: On behalf of those we serve, The Salvation Army Traverse City would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support at the Red Kettles last weekend. We are grateful for the volunteers who bell rang and spread joy, and to everyone who generously donated and supported the campaign to show their 'Love Beyond' hunger, eviction, and crisis!
The Salvation Army is humbled to share that through the shared blessings of the community $14,007.60 was raised to provide basic and critical needs for our neighbors in their time of need. While the Red Kettles and bells are tucked away until the holiday season - Christmas in July donations continue to be accepted through the end of July at our virtual Red Kettle, at The Salvation Army Community Center, 1239 Barlow, and counter Red Kettles at area businesses.
100% of donations stay in our community to provide meals, fill empty cupboards, keep lights on and families sheltered, hope in times of emergency need, day camp for underprivileged children, and more. Thank you for showing our neighbors who are struggling to care for themselves and their families that they are not alone!
Thank you!
The Christmas spirit typically brings to mind white glistening snow, sparkling lights, and joy in our hearts. However, the celebration of miracles, hope, family, and community happens every day in our community, not just during the Christmas season. That is why The Salvation Army is inviting the community to show their support during our Christmas in July Red Kettle Campaign, July 21 & 22.
We invite you to Love Beyond hunger, empty cupboards, eviction, and crisis by showing your support during our annual Christmas in July Red Kettle Campaign by volunteering to Bell Ring, donating at an iconic Red Kettle, or to our virtual Red Kettle. Register to Ring
The Christmas in July Red Kettle Campaign raises awareness of year-round programs and critical funds to allow The Salvation Army Traverse City to feed hungry hearts and souls, assist with utilities, help individuals and families stay in their homes, provide area children and youth build strong character, help families break the cycle of poverty one step at a time through the Pathway of Hope program and meet critical and emergency needs of our neighbors during their time of need. Need knows No Season.
The Salvation Army will be here to help our community members meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges they may be facing.
All funds raised at the Red Kettles stay local, for local programs, to help local individuals and families.
We need your help! Join the Fight for Good!
