Join our Advisory Board: Our advisory board members are local civic, philanthropic business community leaders who are passionate about giving back to their community. They engage, empower and evaluate local programs and services. Advisory board members help us achieve our mission, purpose and objectives through their contribution of work, wealth and wisdom. Community Meals program: The lunch time community meal program runs Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Select a day that works for you and help provide a meal, friendship and fellowship. Food prep 9 AM - noon or dishwasher/cleanup 11 AM - 2 PM. Select days and times that best fit your schedule.
Food Pantry Volunteer: Do you believe that every member of our community should have the food they need to thrive - our food panty is here to provide food, nutrition and health! Volunteers are needed to greet and guide food pantry guests with food selections and stocking of the food pantry. Donate your time Mondays and Fridays from 9am – noon and/or 1 – 4pm during food pantry distribution days or assist with stocking and organizing the food pantry on Wednesday’s between 1 – 4pm. Select days and times that best fits your schedule and join us in feeding hungry hearts and souls.
Community Food Shelf: Assist with unloading and preparing Food Rescue delivery of fresh perishable foods for distribution. Deliveries are generally Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10 AM - 1 PM. Select days and times that best fit your schedule.
Thrift Store Volunteer: Mondays - Saturday between 9 AM - 6 PM. Assist in sorting donations, stocking thrift store, cleaning etc.

Bell Ringing begins November 8 thru Christmas Eve, December 24 - Join us in making a joyful noise and raise funds for local programs - Register to Ring!
Tuesday, November 5, 9am-noon or 1-4pm: Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry
Thursday, November 7, 9am-noon or 1-4pm: Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry
Saturday, November 9, 9am-noon or 1-4pm: Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry
Tuesday, November 12, 9am-2pm:Assist with Holiday Assistance registration as a greeter or provide administrative assistance with data entry
Sunday, November 3, 4:30-6:30pm: Assist with sorting and organization of donated food from Sleeping Bear Riders Food Drive
Thursday, November 21, 9:30-5:30pm: Assist with distribution of Thanksgiving Food Baskets
Tuesday, November 26 - Assist with preparation for Thanksgiving Community Meal and Decorations - call for times
Wednesday, November 27 - Assist in making Thanksgiving Community Meal a memorable meal for our guests (many different opportunities for individuals, groups and families). Times depend on volunteer assignment between 8:30am - 3pm.
Friday, December 6, 10-7pm: Assist in set up and organization of Christmas Toy Shop and Christmas Food Basket Distribution
Monday, December 9, 10-6pm: Assist in set up and organization of Christmas Toy Shop and Christmas Food Basket Distribution
Tuesday, December 10, 10-5pm: Assist in set up and organization of Christmas Toy Shop and Christmas Food Basket Distribution
Wednesday, December 11, 8:00-6pm: Assist with distribution of Toys, Gifts and Food Baskets (many different tasks)
Thursday, December 12, 8:00 - 4pm Assist with distribution of Toys, Gifts and Food Baskets and Tear down
Thursday, December 19: Assist with preparation for Christmas Community Meal and Decorations - call for times
Friday, December 20: Assist in making Christmas Community Meal a celebration for our guests (many different opportunities for individuals, groups and families). Times depend on volunteer assignment between 8:30am - 3pm.
Additional ways to help spread the joy of the season:
· Host a counter Red Kettle at your business – you set the dates and length of time
(We provide the Red Kettle, locks and securing hardware – base is 6 inches round)
· Team Kettle Ringers – get your team and their families together to ring together
(Set up a friendly rivalry with a divisions/departments or rivals)
· Sponsor a Red Kettle (match donations at a location during a set time)
· Roll-up sales at the cash register (dates and times specified by you)
· Host an Online Virtual Red Kettle (business or personal)
· Become Teen Angels or Christmas Wishmakers (Adopt a Teen or collect items from our Wish List)
· Sponsor a Thanksgiving or Christmas basket with all the fixings for a struggling family - $35 donation
· Host a Red Kettle Christmas Party (home/group or business)
· Host a Christmas Gift/Coat or Winter Accessory collection
The only limitation to ideas is your imaginations. We would love work with you on your ideas.
