Please join us in welcoming new officers – Lieutenants Matthew and Haylee Winters
The Salvation Army is pleased to announce the appointment of Lieutenants Matthew and Haylee Winters as corps officers of The Salvation Army Traverse City.
As commissioned Salvation Army officers, the Winters serve as worship and spiritual leaders and serve as administrators, teachers, social workers, counselors and youth leaders. They oversee the Thrift Store as well.
Both Lt. Matthew and Haylee grew up in The Salvation Army. Lt. Matthew attended many of the programs that The Salvation Army still offers. Lt. Haylee’s parents served in The Salvation Army. She moved with them and has worked at various locations throughout the years. Together they have served in Nebraska, Illinois, Wisconsin, and now Michigan.
The Winters have been married for almost 3 years and have a 10 month old daughter Amelia.
“We love working with people to help people. This community cares about their neighbor and extends a helping hand. We are excited to join the ministry that is already taking place. God is working in the Grand Traverse area. We look forward to joining a community that is already cognizant of the needs of others,” said Lieutenant Matthew Winters.
“We are called to care for our brothers and sisters who are going through a hard time and need help. Through such a time as this, people have been more in tune to the needs of those around them. Our mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. We look forward to worshiping with and serving the community.”
