Apr 23, 2020

TRAVERSE CITY, MI: The Salvation Army Traverse City is pleased to announce it has received a $15,000 grant from The Community Foundation Urgent Needs Fund to provide community meals and emergency financial assistance to community members in need during the COVID-19 health crisis.

“We are grateful for the Community Foundation, Oleson Foundation, Rotary Charities, United Way of NWMI and the community for playing a critical role in ensuring that our neighbors’ needs are met when they need it most,” said Major Jeff Russell. “We remain committed to fulfilling the increased demand of critical services to our neighbors who are struggling, whether they were already in need, or if the rippling effects of the COVID-19 crisis pushes them into economic hardship. The Salvation Army will be here to help our community members meet the challenges they face in the coming weeks and months ahead.

This partnership ensures we can continue to be a beacon of hope and healing. It will assist us to get food into the hands and mouths of our neighbors who are hungry and allow us to answer the need for emergency financial assistance during these desperate times.”
