Charlotte, N.C.(September 18, 2018)--Since Monday, September 10 The Salvation Army has been working around the clock to mobilize response teams to prepare and respond to needs after landfall. Today an Army of 603 Salvation Army officers, employees, and volunteers are working in flooded communities to provide food, hydration, and emotional and spiritual care to people impacted by Hurricane Florence. 32 mobile feeding units are on the ground feeding people in communities as roads clear.

  • 35,000 Snacks
  • 32 assigned mobile feeding units in service.
  • 250 comfort kits
  • 21,500 hours of employee and volunteer service

As communities become more accessible, canteens crews will rove in communities, finding people who have been without power since the storm hit the Carolina coast.
