Every year The Salvation Army in Benton Harbor provides more than 9,000 nights of lodging to homeless men in the region.
from homelessness to hope
Every night up to 23 men can find shelter at The Salvation Army - Benton Harbor Corps. In addition to a safe place to say, these men have a hot meal, make new friends, and are given the resources they need to find a new home of their own.
Currently serving as the only single emergency men's shelter on the southwest side of Michigan, our shelter is available for men seeking emergency shelter.
WE PROVIDE:
- Meals
- Case management
- Pastoral care,
- Social services,
- Referrals to other local community agencies
The men's shelter is open daily, from 5 pm to 9 am. When men come into the shelter, they are greeted with clean bedding, the opportunity to take a hot shower, and fed a hot meal. Staff will clean their clothes and give them clothes to sleep in for the night.
We are extremely grateful for the support from our donors, The State of Michigan for providing a grant to renovate the common space, bathroom, and kitchen, McGuire's Professional Construction, Inc. for helping us renovate, and Berrien Community Foundation for blessing us to update the dorms after the renovations.
