Who we Are
The Salvation Army is made up of thousands of officers, soldiers, adherents, employees, volunteers and other individuals all working together to holistically meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of those less fortunate. Our organization is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. The Salvation Army North and Central Division is the administrative unit which provides services to people in need in Greater Chicago, Northern and Central Illinois. The Salvation Army in Blue Island is a part of the North and Central Illinois Division, and provides a variety of services to people in need in our community.
What We Do & How We Help
People often ask why The Salvation Army offers so many different services and programs. The programs and services differ in order to meet the unique needs of the people in the communities we serve. We take a holistic approach to Doing the Most Good where there is the most need without discrimination, whether it be disaster relief, emergency assistance, substance abuse rehabilitation, or educational programs for children. Mission Statement

They bring vast experience and knowledge to their role, interact with the community on a daily basis, and are a primary point of contact for your questions, comments or requests for assistance in Blue Island, Illinois.
