The Salvation Army has changed lives and given hope to countless people throughout the nation. But it never does it alone.
The work of The Salvation Army can only make its greatest impact with the help of people who are willing to offer a helping hand. At the Detroit Conner Creek location, we have a variety of opportunities available for you to do just that. (You must be trained in Safe From Harm in order to work with youth and vulnerable adults.)
Volunteer Bell Ringers
Every Christmas season, our iconic Red Kettle Campaign swings into full gear. We place bell ringers at various stores throughout the Metro Detroit area to collect donations to help us provide the programs and services which we offer throughout the year. You can find all of our volunteer bell ringer opportunities at registertoring.com.
Forgotten Harvest
Every Monday, we receive a food shipment from Forgotten Harvest to distribute to our neighbors in need. We are always looking for individuals or groups to help unload, sort, and distribute the food that is received. Please call (313) 822-2800 to volunteer.
After School Program Tutors
Our After School Program serves children from grades K-8. Our goal is to help our youth reach their highest educational potential. We do this by helping them in areas where they experience the greatest challenge, typically reading, spelling, and math. If you would like to volunteer with our After School Program, please contact us at (313) 822-2800.
Other Opportunities
Throughout the year, there are a number a various volunteer opportunities available at the Detroit Conner Creek Corps. Visit this website, our Facebook page, or call (313) 822-2800 for regular updates and opportunities.
