No One Should Ever Go Hungry

Our programs provide nutritious, delicious meals and
pantry items to those who are food insecure.

Feeding Programs

Approximately 14 percent of individuals and families in Des Moines don't know where or how they'll get their next meal.

Because many families live in food deserts where affordable food isn't readily available, when they do eat, many children eat highly processed food with a lack of nutrients.

From Empty to Full

Our goal is that no man, woman or child in Des Moines should go hungry. Our two food pantries in Des Moines fill more than 10,000 grocery orders each year, and our mobile breakfast trucks serve 1,000 homeless and near-homeless people every Tuesday and Friday morning year round.

How We Help Cure Hunger

We address hunger and food insecurity by offering multiple food programs, ensuring that people of all ages get enough healthy food that will sustain them through their day.

Food Pantry
The food pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., with fresh produce when available.

Mobile Breakfast Service
Our mobile breakfast service travels to five locations around central Des Moines on Tuesday and Friday mornings year-round to serve a hot egg casserole as well as beverages, individually boxed cereals, donuts, hard-boiled eggs and other items when available to approximately 1,000 homeless and near-homeless people.
