Elgin Salvation Army at National Night Out

Aug 4, 2017

The Salvation Army of Elgin enjoyed a fun evening at the National Night Out celebration held near the corps. Captains Xavier and Heather Montenegro here pose next to a giant inflatable kettle used that evening. Many children and their families attended the event hosted by Officer Heather Farrell of the Elgin Police Department. There was music, bounce houses, face painting, cookies and a DJ that helped energize the party.

The Salvation Army also handed out over 350 hot dogs and many bottles of water to the hungry and thirsty participants of the event.

Captain Xavier Montenegro stated, “This was a great time building relationships with people in the community and supporting the work of the Elgin Police Department and all that they do for Elgin. We can’t wait until next year.”
