What is Walking For Dreams?

Walking for dreams is a community walk fundraiser designed to support local charities. This is a local event hosted by the Sycamore foundation every year. The walk is meant to encourage supporters and community members to rally behind non-profit organizations they support and help unlock matching gifts made available from generous donors. This walk started in Indianapolis but quickly spread to Evansville thanks to the Paul Watzlavik family. For years this walk has helped raise over 1 million dollars in total funds for charities right here in Evansville and has been a life source for so much good being done in our community

This year, The Salvation Army is honored to be a part of Walking for Dreams and is excited about the possibility of unlocking matching funds to increase and improve the many vital services to those in need... However, this is only possible with YOUR help! In order to unlock these matching funds, we need our community partners to join us as donors, walkers, and supporters! Visit the Walking For Dreams website and register as a walker, submit your pledge form, and help us get that much closer to unlocking these bonus gifts!

Levels to "Unlock" matching gifts are as follows

• Charities raising $7,500+ will unlock a $1,000 match.
• Charities raising $15,000+ will unlock a $2,500 match.
• Charities raising $30,000+ will unlock a $5,000 match.
• Charities raising $60,000+ will unlock a $10,000 match.
• Charities raising $120,000+ will unlock a $20,000 match.
• With the top charity raising $120,000 or more will receive a $62,000 matching gift above and beyond what was raised!
