War on Hunger - #PartnersForGood
It takes an "Army" behind The Salvation Army to provide for those in need. An army of volunteers, donors, and community partners in order to provide the over 188,000 meals served last year through Salvation Army Food Programs in Southern Indiana. Thanks to our generous community partners and donors we are able to produce each meal at only ~$1.50/per meal, and offer these meals at NO CHARGE to those in need. Your donation of $15, $150, or even $1,500 could provide for 10, 100, or even 1,000 meals!!!
As part of our War on Hunger campaign, we need your support to help us secure resources to feed the hungry year-round. The summer months are a difficult time when resources grow thin under increased demand. We rely on our War on Hunger event to raise the funds and donated food items to see us through the ups and downs.
Last year we were forced to limit the amounts and resources for families seeking help in order to keep the food programs open.
Help us prevent this same situation and join us in our War on Hunger by becoming a #PartnerForGood
When - War on Hunger will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 14th and 15th, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM
What - Volunteers are needed to pass out "shopping lists" of the most needed items to customers to encourage donations of those needed items.
Where - We will be at the following Schnucks Locations to collect donations and spread the word about our food programs.
Two Men and a Truck staff will be on hand to collect and deliver donations to our food program storage area for sorting. From there the donations will go straight to families in need in your community!
Thank you to all of our supporters and community partners for equipping us to serve those in need!
