The War on hunger

Last year the need tripled, and our services increased to 350,000 meals served. Help us reach our goal of $40,000 and ensure families have food when the unthinkable happens. $25 provides 14 meals.

War on Hunger - #PartnersForGood

To provide the over 350,000 meals served last year, (triple what was provided in 2022)... It takes an "Army" behind The Salvation Army to provide for those in need. An army of volunteers, donors, and community partners to fight hunger in our community. Thanks to our generous community partners and donors we are able to produce each meal at only ~$1.70/per meal, and offer these meals at NO CHARGE to those in need. Your donation of $25, $250, or even $500 could provide for 15, 150, or even 300 meals!!!

As part of our War on Hunger campaign, we need your support to help us secure resources to feed the hungry year-round. The summer months are a difficult time when resources grow thin under increased demand. We rely on our War on Hunger event to raise the funds and donated food items to see us through the ups and downs.

When - War on Hunger will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 12th and 13th, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM

What - Volunteers will hand out lists of the most needed items at The salvation Army's food programs to customers to encourage donations.

Where - We will be at the following Schnucks locations.

First Ave - Sign Up to Volunteer and help us collect at this location.
Lawndale - Sign Up to Volunteer and help us collect at this location.
Westside - Sign Up to Volunteer and help us collect at this location.
Newburgh - Sign Up to Volunteer and help us collect at this location.
Darmstadt - Sign Up to Volunteer and help us collect at this location.
Lynch Rd - Sign Up to Volunteer and help us collect at this location.

Two Men and a Truck staff will be on hand to collect and deliver donations to our food program storage area for sorting. From there the donations will go straight to families in need in your community!
