Volunteers matter and make a DIFFERENCE in what we do at The Salvation Army serving Genesee County.
We cannot do what we do without Volunteers.
Whether you are a long-time volunteer or recently joined our team, it's important to know that WHAT YOU DO FOR OTHERS MAKES THIS DIFFERENCE. We truly value and appreciate each and every volunteer who gives time and talent by supporting The Salvation Army and our mission.
“You are not here in the world for yourself. You have been sent here for others” – Catherine Booth
While many of our volunteer opportunities take place during the Christmas Season (Be a Bell Ringer), opportunities are available throughout the year. Our Emergency Disaster Services assist emergency responders as needed. Tutoring opportunities are also available year round. Community members can also support the work of The Salvation Army by joining The Salvation Army of Greater Flint's Women's Auxiliary, or by organizing a drive for food, coats, toys, personal hygiene products and cleaning supplies for distribution through the Toy Shop and Social Services Department. Please call 810-600-4497 to request collection boxes.
The following are a few of our current opportunities:
Become part of our Emergency Disaster Services Team
Join our team of trained volunteers that respond to local disasters, fires and events in our community. Be the first on the front lines to lend hydration, food, physical and emotional support to our local fire and police departments.
