No one should grow old alone

The Salvation Army welcomes and supports people of all ages

The Salvation Army Great Lakes Division invites senior citizens into relationships with others through our programs. To help combat the loneliness, depression, and loss of independence that often accompany old age, we provide the following opportunities at corps locations across the state:

  • Crafts, bible studies and luncheons
  • Day trips to fun locations like the Henry Ford Museum
  • Movie nights and garden days
  • Senior computer lab

For seniors struggling with food scarcity there are food pantries at many of our corps community centers. Seniors struggling to pay their utilities can find assistance at our Energy Assistance Services (EAS) program.
