Fight Poverty by Text: The Salvation Army Debuts Phone-Friendly Way to Donate to Bed & Bread Club

Bed & Bread LogoSOUTHFIELD, Mich., - The Salvation Army of MetroDetroit is now accepting text donations for the 24th AnnualSalvation Army Bed & Bread Club Radiothon.

Now through Feb. 25, The SalvationArmy encourages supporters to text BREAD to 80888, to make a one-time $10 donation to The Salvation ArmyBed & Bread Club Radiothon.

A $10 gift - the price of two orthree lattes - helps to feed a person one meal a day for one month, and thereis no limit to the number of $10 text donations an individual can send.

The 24th AnnualSalvation Army Bed & Bread Club Radiothon, airing live from 6 a.m. to 10p.m. Friday, Feb. 25 from Oakland Mall in Troy on News/Talk 760 WJR, raisesfunds for The Salvation Army's Bed & Bread Program.

One hundred percent of donationsgo directly to providing food, shelter and other services to poverty-stricken peoplein metro Detroit's most depressed areas 365 days of the year.

ThroughSalvation Army facilities and their Bed & Bread trucks, nearly 5,000 mealsare served each day to children, adults and seniors.
