The most popular question we hear is, "can I designate my gift to benefit my community?" YES! Legacy gifts can benefit a specific community, need, or have permanent benefits. Our gift planning team can help you create your legacy and achieve your goals. Please ask us so that we can provide the best wording.
The Salvation Army offers numerous options to honor your charitable giving goals. We already have several options available where your gift can be pooled with others to make your giving grow.
An endowment fund provides permanent support while serving as your personal legacy.
Creating or adding to an endowment is a wonderful way to make a lasting impact for those in need. An endowment is a permanently invested fund of which a portion of the earnings are made available each year to provide for the designated need. Every year the fund directs dollars toward the designated need, enabling you to “endow” your current annual gift to your favorite interests.
With a Hometown Hero Endowment, YOU can be a HERO in your community and establish a permanent endowment for ongoing support of The Salvation Army’s ministry of service of in your hometown.
A Hometown Heroes Endowment is one of the best ways to have a long-term impact on the people of the community in which you live. A Hometown Heroes Endowment pools gifts together from many local heroes and permanently invests those funds for The Salvation Army in your community to provide services with hope and compassion for years to come. The purpose of a Hometown Heroes Endowment is to enhance and support the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army in that community or county. Interest earned by the fund is unrestricted and provides stability and growth for the life-changing and life-saving programs and services provided by The Salvation Army to our neighbors in need.
A gift now will have a ripple effect far into the future.
If you don’t see your hometown or county listed, please contact us to inquire about establishing a Hometown Heroes Endowment to benefit your community!
