Baesler's Market Kettle Match
The bells are ringing once more at Baesler's Market and owner Bob Baesler is celebrating the return of the Red Kettles with a special matching gift to The Salvation Army that's tied to Red Kettles placed at Baesler's Market locations in Sullivan and Terre Haute.
November 25, 26, and 27 all donations up to $1,000 will be doubled at the Baesler's Market in Sullivan, located at 227 S. Section Street. Donations to the Terre Haute store, located at 2900 Poplar Street, will be doubled up to $2,500 thanks to Mr. Baesler's generous gift.
The timing of the match has special meaning with the Thanksgiving holidays bringing families together in gratitude and reflection. The Salvation Army is hopeful that shoppers will be inspired by the matching gift and will dig a little deeper in their pockets before leaving the stores with their Thanksgiving dinner provisions.
"Mr. Baesler’s generosity is an excellent reminder of why Thanksgiving is a holiday in the first place," said Captain Jeremy Fingar with The Salvation Army of Terre Haute. "His kettle match will go a long way in helping us meet human need in Vigo County and we are thankful his continued partnership with The Salvation Army."
The annual Red Kettle campaign kicked off earlier this month and will run through Christmas Eve. Volunteer bell ringers are still needed to help make this vital fundraising campaign successful. Residents of Vigo and Sullivan counties can visit www.RegisterToRing.com to choose the location, date, and time that works best for them.
"The funds raised through the Christmas campaign help support programs and services in Vigo County throughout the year and account for 80% of The Salvation Army’s annual budget," Captain Fingar added. "Those services include a food pantry, Christmas assistance, nursing home visitation, youth programs, summer camps, long term family case management, rent and utility assistance."
Funds raised in each community will stay in that community to support ministries and programs throughout 2025. Stay informed of The Salvation Army's activities in Vigo and Sullivan County this fall by following them on Facebook:
