Casting Crowns Concert Gives Back in Evansville

Dec 9, 2021

Awakening Foundation and Altura HealthShare have teamed up with The Salvation Army to support individuals and families in need. Contemporary Christian artist Casting Crowns will present a donation to The Salvation Army of Evansville at Aiken Theatre at Old National Events Plaza on December 9, 2021. The donation will support The Salvation Army of Evansville’s programs to help people recover from the resurgence of the pandemic and stay in their homes this holiday season.

The Salvation Army has worked nonstop since the start of the pandemic to provide help and hope to those in need by providing shelter to those experiencing homelessness, meal services to those experiencing food insecurity, financial assistance to those facing evictions, and emotional and spiritual care to those needing support. With the resurgence of COVID-19, The Salvation Army anticipates requests for service to increase.

"I am thrilled and delighted with our Fall events line up and the continued partnership with Salvation Army to make a tangible impact in each of the local communities we are visiting,” said Dan Fife, president, and founder of Awakening Foundation. “ This past year our team faced some of the biggest challenges in the history of live events. Faith and courage helped us face those obstacles; and we have found blessings and gratitude on the other side of all the hard work and grit. Our team is honored to come alongside the Salvation Army to support the important work happening on the front lines of those in need.”

The concert tours shows are adhering to local and venue requirements as it relates to COVID-19 to ensure families and friends can safely enjoy live music again.

“With the resurgence of COVID-19, The Salvation Army of has seen requests for service to increase significantly this holiday season,” said Major Jason Poff from The Salvation Army. “The gift from Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare along with the public’s generosity helps The Salvation Army provide hope to thousands of individuals and families in need.”

Thanks to supporters like Awakening Foundation and Altrua HealthShare, since the start of the pandemic, The Salvation Army of Evansville has provided:

  • 636,771 meals (2020)

  • 5472  food boxes with 15,411 individuals
