Jiffy Lube Honors Salvation Army Volunteer
Jiffy Lube of Indiana's Do More Initiative is honoring men and women who give back in big ways to their community. The company honored Salvation Army volunteer Bill Shaw as its #DoMore winner for August. Bill will receive a year's worth of free oil changes from Jiffy Lube as a way for him to continue caring for the vehicle he relies on in order to volunteer across the Indianapolis metro area.
Bill Shaw has been a volunteer with The Salvation Army for many years and was recently awarded The Salvation Army's Metro Indianapolis 2021 Volunteer of the Year Award. His volunteer log includes events like Angel Tree distribution at Christmas, Coats for Kids in the fall, and back to school programs helping kids in need get fitted with new shoes and backpacks filled with school supplies. Bill is also a trained volunteer with The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services and was deployed to Florida in 2018 to assist with the Hurricane Michael response.
Thanks to the generosity of Jiffy Lube, Bill will have no trouble getting his car to and from The Salvation Army's Fountain Square Corps Community Center just south of downtown Indianapolis each week. He is a regular volunteer at the corps, driving a route through the neighborhood to pick up seniors without transportation so that they can participate in bingo and lunch. Bill is not only reliable and hard-working, but his positive attitude always puts a smile of the faces of those around him.
Congratulations, Bill, and thank you for doing the most good with The Salvation Army!
