The 24th Annual WIBC Radiothon!
The 24th Annual WIBC Radiothon to benefit The Salvation Army's Bed and Bread Club wrapped up on Saturday after 36 hours of programing. It kicked off at 6 AM with 93.1 WIBC host Tony Katz and wrapped up on Saturday evening at 6 PM with co-hosts Pat Sullivan and Denny Smith. The show was broadcast from a stage in the atrium at Emmis Communications all day Friday and through the night before switching to a special stage set up at Sullivan Hardware and Garden on North Keystone Avenue. The airwaves were filled with stories of The Salvation Army's work in the community, and stories from the people we have served as we attempted to reach our goal. When everything was said and done, the goal was met and over $250,000 was raised!
This year’s final total translates to more than 50,000 meals and more than 5,000 safe nights of shelter for those in need in our community. Of course The Salvation Army would not be able to provide these needs without the generosity of everyone who called in and made a pledge. Thank you!
