What is the William Booth Society?

The William Booth Society, The Salvation Army’s most prestigious donor organization, is named for the founder of The Salvation Army who began helping the destitute in London in 1865. The Salvation Army Indiana Division has established The William Booth Society (WBS) to recognize and honor donors who make an annual gift of $5,000 or more to support Army programs and services.

Who qualifies as a member of the William Booth Society?

The William Booth Society recognizes organizations (churches, corporations, and civic organizations), foundations, and individuals who give $5,000 or more to The Salvation Army in the Indiana Division on an annual basis from January 1 through December 31. All donors are recognized as William Booth Society supporters and may remain anonymous, if they wish.

What are the criteria to become a William Booth Society donor?

How does the William Booth Society recognize WBS supporters?

When you give to The Salvation Army at the WBS level, you encourage others to do the same. The need to support programs are ongoing each year and it is for this reason we also recognize you for renewing your giving in a significant way each calendar year. As a William Booth Society donor, you will receive personalized communications, special updates on programs and services, and obtain access to opportunities reserved for The William Booth Society.  Donors to The Salvation Army can be assured that their contribution is spent to meet the needs of others, not on expensive donor gifts and programs. William Booth Society recognition will be focused on keeping donors informed, valued, and cherished.

The Society will host regular opportunities to tour programs and attend Society receptions plus meet with Area Command and Corps Officers. Members of The William Booth Society are encouraged to help The Salvation Army identify and respond to the needs of the communities we serve together.
