ArtPrize is one of the most well known and most attended public art shows in Michigan and across the country. Since its inception, millions have visited Grand Rapids, to see thousands of artworks displayed all over downtown.
This year, The Salvation Army is taking part in the popular event and will be hosting five artists. Their works, inspired by faith and spirituality will be on display September 13-28 at The Salvation Army Fulton Heights Citadel/Community Center.
“For centuries, artists have been using their talents to glorify God and inspire people toward deeper faith,” said Grand Valley Area Commander Major Tim Meyer. “These artists are sharing their spiritual gift to highlight The Salvation Army’s work in the community, and we are so excited to participate with them in ArtPrize this year.”
One of the displays consists of art that explores the meaning of The Salvation Army's motto "Doing the Most Good".
Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago".
