Volunteers are the Heart of our Team.

The service and commitment of our volunteers enable The Salvation Army to:

Provide food to families facing a shortage
Reach out to the elderly and those facing hardship in our communities
Be a place of love and support for children
Make the holidays a time of joy for those in need
Give hope to those facing disaster

Even the smallest tasks, like helping with office work or ringing bells at Christmas, support our mission and, in the end, help change lives in our community for the better. We couldn't do it without you!  Thank you for helping us make our community a place of hope.

Special Volunteer Opportunity

Kent County Development has organized a great event called "Community Conversation" on Saturday, May 18.  We will be available in seven different parks in Grand Rapids, handing out lunch and engaging in conversation with our neighbors about what The Salvation Army does.  Volunteers are needed to help with set up, welcome neighbors/guests with a simple explanation of the park visit, assist in handing out literature and sack lunches and general clean up.

If you are interested you can either contact Constance Huizenga (constance_huizenga@usc.salvationarmy.org) or sign up online below.
