Donut Day 2021 Recap
We had a blast celebrating National Donut Day on Friday, June 4! Fulton Heights Corps Officers Mika and Grace Roinila, along with Salvation Army staff members, spent the morning delivering over 35 dozen donuts to the Grand Rapids and Wyoming Police Departments, Kent County Sheriff's Office, Grand Rapids Fire Departments, and American Medical Response and Life EMS ambulance services. In addition to a sweet treat, the donuts also brought smiles to the first responders. Auxiliary Captains Mika and Grace spent time at each location enthusiastically thanking each group of responders for their commitment to our Kent County community and sharing the history behind Donut Day. The donuts came from Van's Pastry.
Take a look at some photos and posts from the day.
ICYMI Major Cornell Voeller, Divisional Secretary for Business, joined @irwinsh on @WGVURadio earlier today to give a brief history lesson and share more about The Salvation Army's original role with #NationalDonutDay. Hope you enjoyed the donuts, Shelley!https://t.co/KzM8oruuES
