Fun for the Family at Friday @ the SAL!
Friday @ the SAL is a monthly themed dinner gathering that is fun for all ages! Each month’s gathering begins with a hot, nutritious meal. After the meal, adults and kids engage in games, crafts, a devotional and other activities related to the month’s theme. There is a suggested donation of $3 per person. Past themes have included a Valentine’s spaghetti dinner, St. Patrick’s Day, a pinwheel party, an outdoor dance party, a salute to the end of summer, a BBQ Party, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Children have access to the large gym in the facility, and the opportunity to engage in sport activities like basketball.
Friday @ the SAL began with a simple idea—gathering members of the Fulton Heights community to let loose, socialize, and meet new people. Many who attend bring their entire family, creating an exciting inter-generational opportunity for kids, adults, and older adults to build relationships with one another. This is known to increase feelings of safety and happiness in communities, something that can be lost in a big city like Grand Rapids. We strive to provide a safe space with engaging activities and an excellent meal that anyone can enjoy.
