Thank You 2022 Youth Fair Auction Participants!
The Salvation Army in Kent County would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2022 Youth Fair Auction; from buyers of meat, our advisory board, community members and the youth who put so much effort into raising the beef and pork that was purchased for The Salvation Army. It is always a blessing to help the 4H youth, many of whom save these annual earnings for their future college expenses.
Almost 6,000 pounds of meat were donated and will go to families, individuals and seniors in the Kent County community during our Christmas and Angel Tree Distribution. As we are all aware, the price of meat continues to rise with the current level of inflation, and this meat is a blessing for those who may otherwise be unable to afford it.
Additional thanks to Carl and Sarah Jones, pictured below, from Jones Meat for processing much of the donated meat.
The Salvation Army in Kent County would like to give a special thank you to Dale DeHaan for leading the 4H Youth Fair Auction for the last two years. Dale is the founder of MI Choice Benefits, and a long-time member of The Salvation Army's Grand Rapids Advisory Board. It is his passion for the work of 4H Youth and for The Salvation Army that has allowed this event to be so successful. Thank you again for helping raise donations of over 11,000 pounds of meat during the last two challenging years for Kent County!
