Volunteer Appreciation Picnic

The Salvation Army in Kent County honored their volunteers at a picnic June 3rd. The event was held at Little Pine Island Camp. Following a welcome from Kent County Development Director Cathy Blackburn, Grand Valley Area Commander Tim Meyer gave the invocation.

Volunteers were given new t-shirts and three were awarded gift certificates to area restaurants.

Dinner was cooked and prepared by members and volunteers from The Salvation Army EDS team and included brats, hot dogs, veggie and turkey burgers, baked beans, and potato salad.

After dinner, everyone took part in games and activities including archery, horseshoes, volleyball, and even pontoon rides.
