We fight poverty with love

By providing programs that serve the body, mind, spirit and soul, The Salvation Army helps alleviate the symptoms of poverty - and works to address the root issues that cause it.

"Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat." -Saint Teresa of Calcutta-

The Salvation Army Logansport Citadel Corps, is committed to relieving not just poverty of the body but of the whole person. Here at the Army you'll find a friendly smile, someone who cares  and someone to remember you.

It all come at Once

Lori, had a job, had a family, had a husband, was even a leader at her church. Yet 2008 hit Cass County hard and Lori's family was no exception. Her husband was laid off from work and Lori was diagnosed with COPD. The next 6 years they pulled from there savings to pay the bills. As the economy improved Lori's husband found a job that was like the one he lost. However, Lori's condition prevented her from working. One month it was too much and they needed help. The Salvation Army was able to pay her light bill to keep the equipment running.

How we help overcome poverty

Pathway of Hope
The Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope initiative provides individualized services to families with children who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty in addition to The Army?s history of compassionate serving. By helping families overcome challenges like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we can lead families down a path toward increased stability and, ultimately, sufficiency.

Bridge to Hope

The Salvation Army's Bridge to Hope initiative, like Pathway of Hope, provides individualized services, to Adults without children in the household, who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that has occur time and time again in their lives.
