EDS Provides Support During Warehouse Fire in Rockford

At 3:20 AM on August 28, Rockford, IL dispatch called the EDS hotline requesting two canteens to support over 100 personnel on scene fighting a large warehouse fire at 200 Harrison Road. Driver, Scott Allshouse contacted crew member Julie O’Malley to assist on Canteen CM113. The second canteen, CM112 responded from Carpentersville with David Austin driving. Enroute, a second multi-structure fire occurred on Collins Road. CM112 was rerouted to that scene to support the First Responders who were being pulled from the warehouse fire. In the meantime, Lynn Sjogren responded immediately in his personal vehicle, filled with hydration for the First Responders. Lynn recruited Mike Leopold to assist David in CM112.

CM113 – Warehouse fire:
3 volunteers worked 24 hours serving 62 beverages, 96 meals and 15 snacks.
