Fox 32 Tours Salvation Army's EDS Warehouse
With Hurricane Harvey on the minds and hearts of all Americans this week, The Salvation Army has taken a leading role in the relief efforts. FOX 32 Chicago visited the Emergency Disaster Services of Greater Chicagoland to learn more about how we're preparing to aid those in need.
Major David Dalberg, Director of EDS - Metropolitan Division, gave FOX a tour of the impressive warehouse that services the Central Territory of The Salvation Army; including providing emergency supplies for the recent McHenry and Lake County Illinois flooding. EDS is at the ready with supplies and equipment for when the Salvation Army centers near the Harvey Landfall are in need. In the meantime, volunteers specially trained in stress management are headed south to support residents and first-responders as needed.
The Salvation Army does not place an administrative fee on disaster donations. When you donate to Hurricane Harvey through Salvation Army, 100 percent of the gift will be used in support of those relief efforts. It may be used to provide food and drinks to survivors, cleaning supplies and essential commodities, direct financial aid to those affected, or to support disaster relief workers serving in the area.
