Students from Epworth United Methodist Church Volunteers at EDS for Christmas

Nov 26, 2016

Thirty-Eight students from Epworth United Methodist Church in Toledo, Ohio, descended upon EDS in Elk Grove Village for a full day of wrapping presents, preparing candy boxes for incarcerated individuals for the Pathway Forward Program, and assembling boxes ahead of a massive Christmas box food-packing operation.

Their enthusiasm was contagious. Shout outs were heard echoing throughout the warehouse as the groups motivated one another to meet their goals.

Working quickly and efficiently, the group accomplished all of the tasks set before them at the beginning of the day.

8,400 bags of candy were packaged for the Pathway Forward program, 660 gifts wrapped, and 1200 boxes assembled for approximately eight hours the students worked in the EDS warehouse.

It was a delight to work among and talk with, these young people who committed their personal time to assist others.
