Through programs designed to address the mind, body and soul, we meet the needs of adults of all ages.
Emergency Social Services
The Community Center at Ferguson offers a variety of basic social services such as emergency financial, utility, and rent/mortgage assistance. Salvation Army case managers provide casework and referral services, including financial planning assistance, job placement strategies, and emotional support in cases of abuse or crisis. Families are referred to as the Pathway of Hope program when the crises or barrier requires more long-term support.
Pathway of Hope
The Pathway of Hope provides targeted services to families with children under the age of 18, both traditional and non-traditional family structures, that desire to break the cycle of crisis. Through case management, we focus on a family’s capabilities and raise hope by empowering them to overcome barriers on the path to stability. Families set their own goals, and we partner with them to provide the resources needed to accomplish each one. By helping families overcome barriers like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we can break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability, leading families down a path toward increased stability – a Pathway of Hope that will profoundly affect generations to come.
Pathway to Health
The Pathway to Health initiative is a collaboration between The Salvation Army and Christian Hospital to address the health and economic wellness needs of the North St. Louis County community. As part of the Pathway of Hope, Pathway to Health allows families with health needs and other socio-economic barriers to work on goals in both areas. Community health workers and case managers provide needed support for each family on their journey towards wellness and self-sufficiency. This support creates paths that lead to better health management as well as stability for their family to thrive.
