2024 St. Louis Angel Tree Toy Town to Serve Over 6,500 Children
Salvation Army staff and volunteers are gearing up to make Christmas brighter for over 6,500 children in St. Louis City and County alone. From Dec. 16-19, the parents and guardians of those children will visit our distribution center in St. Ann, Missouri, and have the dignified opportunity to hand-select toys and gifts for their children.
“I’ve coined Angel Tree Toy Town as ‘the happiest week of the year,’” said Greater St. Louis Area Commander Major Adam Moore. “Seeing the smiles on parents’ faces as they come through our doors is an unmistakable feeling of joy, relief and gratitude for what the St. Louis community has come together to do for our most marginalized neighbors.”
“But our work isn’t done,” he continued. “We are still in need of toy donations to ensure we can serve the increasing volume of children in need. We’re also still looking for additional hands to serve the community the week of distribution. As you might image, to serve that volume of families is no small feat.”
Individuals and organizations can sign up for volunteer shifts on Better Impact, our volunteer site. To learn more about Angel Tree Toy Town, visit salarmy.us/STLAngelTree.
In the greater St. Louis area, The Salvation Army serves more than 8,400 children via Toy Town each year.
For more than 40 years, Angel Tree Toy Town has been active across the country, providing clothing and toys for children from infant to age 12 at Christmas time. This is made possible by the generosity of individuals and over 120 community partners who serve as toy drive hosts, some beginning their collections as early as July, during our Christmas in July celebration. In addition, Two Men and a Truck is a sponsor of Toy Town, helping transport toys to the distribution center.
