Omicron Theta Omega AKA Sorority Chapter Donates to Ferguson Community Empowerment Center

The Omicron Theta Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) continued its proud tradition of supporting local charities and partners in the community, with a $1,200 donation to The Salvation Army Ferguson Community Empowerment Center.

Jason Acklin, Director of Operations at The Salvation Army Ferguson Community Center and Dr. Kimberly Hodge-Bell, President of the Omicron Theta Omega AKA Chapter.

The Omicron Theta Omega AKA Chapter has supported and volunteered at many Salvation Army initiatives, programs and events in Ferguson, including its food drives, free meal drive-throughs, and health fairs.

“Service is the heart of our organization,” said Dr Kimberly Hodge-Bell, President of the Omicron Theta Omega AKA Chapter. “We are committed to supporting families within the Ferguson community.

The Salvation Army Ferguson Community Center proudly shared its thanks to the Omicron Theta Omega AKA Chapter, by honoring them with a "Recognition Award."

“We are very grateful to the kind members of the Omicron Theta Omega Chapter of the AKA Sorority," said Jason Acklin, Director of Operations at The Salvation Army Ferguson Community Center.

"Their kindness directly supports programs The Salvation Army provides at the Ferguson Community Empowerment Center including our Spark Academy for young children,” said Acklin.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) is an international service organization founded in 1908 at Howard University in Washington, D.C. It is the oldest Greek-letter organization established by African American college-educated women.

"Recognition Award" presented to the AKA Sorority, Inc. Omicron Theta Omega Chapter, for their outstanding support and contribution to The Salvation Army Ferguson Community Empowerment Center.
