Our divisional youth secretaries, Lts. Matt and Virginia DeGonia, appeared on last week’s Fox 2 show “Studio STL,” to invite campers and their families to The Salvation Army’s Camp Mihaska this summer.

Camp Mihaska has been the 800-acre summer camp home for more than 60 years in Bourbon, Mo., about an hour southwest of St. Louis, serving generations of children.

“Starting at the end of May all the way through July, we have all ranges come out and spend the summer with us, so it’s exciting,” Lt. Matt DeGonia said.

Attractions include a paintball course, a climbing wall, team-building exercises, Bible study, archery, a pool with slides, wooded trails, and a mini golf course, among other things to do.

Want to attend or work at Camp Mihaska? In addition to our camp-goers, we’re looking for camp counselors and kitchen help. For more information, visit

“Studio STL” host Chelsea Haynes will be hosting May 14’s Salvation Army divisional Doing the Most Good awards and brunch. To join us, visit to purchase tickets.
