The Salvation Army Kroc Church invites area community members to attend its Easter weekend events. All events are free and open to the public and will be held at The Kroc Center located at 405 Vermont Street in Quincy.

Easter events begin on Friday, April 2 at 6pm with a United Good Friday service. Five area Christian denominations will come together with The Kroc Church for this unique ecumenical service. Corps Officers Captains Kristina and Michael Sjogren along with local pastors, will lead the Tenebrae Service. The following community leaders will be speaking at the United Good Friday Service:

· Central Baptist – Pastor Jason Sommerfelt

· First Baptist – Rev. Dr. Orville Jones

· First Southern Baptist – Rev. Tom Rains

· Quincy Kroc Church – Captains Kristina & Michael Sjogren

· Vermont Street United Methodist Church – Rev. Patty Johansson

“For those who do not know what a Tenebrae service involves, it is a segmented reading of John’s story of the trial, sentencing, execution, death, and burial of Jesus,” stated Senior Kroc Officer Kristina Sjogren. “It is our pleasure to host this event. we look forward to meeting members from each of the represented congregations. We welcome the public with open arms and hope that they will join us for this celebration of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

Easter Sunday events will begin at 9am with an Easter breakfast in the Meadows. Easter Morning Worship will take place at 10:30am in the Worship Theatre.
