QUINCY SALVATION ARMY ANNOUNCES THE CONCLUSION OF 2020 TREE OF LIGHTS CHRISTMAS CAMPAIGN
The Quincy Salvation Army and the members of its Advisory Board have announced the completion of a successful 2020 Christmas Campaign. The Quincy campaign goal of $400,000 was exceeded with a total raised of $426,907.
The Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is The Salvation Army’s major fund-raising effort each year. Money raised during the campaign helps provide Christmas assistance as well as funding programs and services that assist individuals and families in the greater Adams, Brown, and Pike County areas throughout the entire year.
The need for assistance to the people of the Quincy area community is a constant, which The Salvation Army takes very seriously, especially during this campaign.
This holiday season, the following assistance was given in the Quincy service area: 800 Christmas food boxes were distributed to families. 433 meals were served on Thanksgiving and 540 meals were served on Christmas Day. In conjunction with Toys for Tots of Quincy, 2,012 children received 15,531 toys.
The Salvation Army is grateful to the 574 volunteers who donated 1,486 hours of volunteer service to help make all of this possible, including many of them who rang bells during a pandemic.
The Salvation Army appreciates the many individuals, groups, organizations, and businesses that supported its effort by donating food, toys, time, and money to make the 2020 Christmas Campaign a success.
