Salvation Army of Quincy Announces Christmas Campaign Conclusion in Pike County
The Salvation Army of Quincy surpassed its 2021 Christmas Campaign goal of $435,000 by raising a total of $470,420.
The Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is The Salvation Army's major fundraising effort each year. Money raised during the campaign helps provide Christmas assistance as well as funding programs and services that assist individuals and families in Adams, Brown and Pike counties on a daily basis throughout the year.
During this past Christmas season, The Salvation Army of Quincy provided 47 food boxes containing a full Christmas meal to Toys for Tots of Pike County and 42 boxes to First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill.
In 2021, The Salvation Army was able to use $9,000 in grant money to hold multiple food drives in Pike County. The money was spent at Pike County grocers to buy the food that was distributed in Pleasant Hill, Barry, and Griggsville in May. The Salvation Army once again teamed up with First Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill in July to distribute 120 food boxes.
