THE SALVATION ARMY QUINCY AREA COMMAND TO BRING POPULAR BUCKET BLITZ MT. STERLING

Nov 26, 2024

The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command will bring its beloved Bucket Blitz to Mt. Sterling on Friday, December 6. Bell ringers will be located at the four-way stop at Main (Hwy 24) and Capital from 10am until 2pm, inviting the community to help make a difference this holiday season.

Proceeds from the Red Kettle Campaign directly support vital programs and services that provide assistance to neighbors in need in the counties of Adams, Brown, and Pike in Illinois. In 2023, The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command made a meaningful impact in the community by:

10,027 individuals received assistance from The Salvation Army.

727 individuals received 6,341nights of lodging at the Emergency Shelter.
27,520 meals were provided to shelter residents.

1,328 food boxes were given to the community.

163 households received utility assistance.

333 individuals received housing assistance.

Also, during the 2023 Christmas Season:
812 families received Christmas food baskets.
3,437 toys, gift cards, and clothing items were given to children through the Angel Tree Program.

782 individuals were provided with dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers aged 18 and older to assist with the Mini Bucket Blitz. Join this meaningful effort to spread holiday joy and support those in need. To volunteer, please contact Matt Schmidt at 217-231-5694.

Your contributions and time can make a lasting difference in the lives of local families this holiday season. Together, we can bring hope to Mt. Sterling and beyond!
