Weekend Warrior Program

Mar 25, 2022

Meet Fontella, Dorothy and Richard, these three wonderful individuals visit us five days a week at our Senior Feeding Program where they receive a hot and nutritious meal at no cost to them.

We recently learned that for many of our seniors, this was the only meal they could count on, and some had difficulty providing for themselves over the weekend.

In learning this, we developed the Weekend Warrior Program where we send meals home to help our seniors to get through the weekend until they can come back on Monday.

Shortly after implementing this new program, we started receiving several cards of thanks, thanking us for the wonderful food and for remembering them every day of the week. We too are grateful, as we were awarded startup funding from the Greene County Senior Citizens Services Fund to help us launch our new program.

We owe a great debt to our seniors as they have paved the way for us and for our future generations. This is the least we can do.

If you would like to help us with the ongoing support of this program you can donate to our Christmas Catalog through the attached link. Any gift will help, however, with $50 you can help provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for one person for the entire weekend.
