The Salvation Army Angel Tree Toy Town Program

Because of you, a child in our community will have gifts on Christmas morning. The Angel Tree Toy Town program is one of The Salvation Army's highest profile Christmas efforts. Angel Tree was created by The Salvation Army in 1979 by Majors Charles and Shirley White when they worked with a shopping mall in Virginia, to provide clothing and toys for children at Christmas time.

Below is more information about how you can get involved by hosting an Angel Tree, a toy drive, or volunteering to help us distribute the gifts and toys to families.

Host a Christmas in July Toy Drive, An Angel Tree, or Toy Drive

To ensure we help more children ages 0-12 years old have gifts this Christmas, we invite you to host an Angel Tree, or host a Toy Drive with us. Below is more information about each of our toy collection programs for businesses, organizations, churches, groups, and others.

Christmas in July Toy Drive, July 1st - 31st: Collect new toys, books, games, or gift cards.

Angel Tree Host, October 1st - December 8th: Receive generic gift wishes request tags for Angels (children), and collect them for our distribution.

Toy Drive, Anytime: Collect new toys, books, games, and gift cards for distribution to Angels.

Volunteer

To help us organize the toys and gifts, and distribute them to Angels and their families, we invite you to volunteer with us! Review the Angel Tree Toy Town volunteer roles and duties below for how you, your company, group, or organization can get involved. Volunteer with us!

Pre-Distribution Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Shifts:

November 25th & 26th: (Monday & Tuesday): 9am-3pm
December 2nd - December 6th: 9am-3pm
December 9th - December 13th: 9am-3pm
December 14th: 9am-3pm

Volunteer Duties:

Set-up
Toy counting, sorting and organizing
Decorating distribution center
Assisting donors with unloading toy and gift donations

Sort and organize toys
Check-in clients and verify appointment time and identification
