WHO: I own Yoro Styles, an independent wardrobe styling service and buyer for photoshoots, film and personal styling, and Yoro Creations, a custom-design jewelry service. North St. Louis native. Self-taught thrifter. Featured in fashion shows, art galleries, magazines, and film.
STYLE: Growing up in North St. Louis, Yoro encountered “Church Fashion,” taking these cues and applying it to street fashion. Yoro has always done things a little bit differently. Her father instilled in her love for handcrafted artistry and the spirit of entrepreneurship, through his side hustle of making fishing sinkers. The name “yoro” combines her first and middle names, YOlanda ROshell. Yoro creates custom, unique, timeless, bold, outspoken, trend-setting jewelry at a reasonable cost to fashionistas around the globe! I also make oversize pieces. I love fashion because a designer can share their skills and talents with the world.
