The Salvation Army Responds to Devastating Floods in Mid-Michigan
Emergency Disaster Services providing support to individuals and families in Midland and its surrounding communities
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., (May 22, 2020) –The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) is aiding individuals and families in Midland County, Michigan due to the catastrophic flooding caused by the Edenville and Sanford dam failures.
Currently, The Salvation Army is providing meals to those displaced at area hotels, as well as distributing blankets to individuals seeking relief at temporary shelters.
“The flooding is massive, and there will be extensive cleanup in the months ahead,” said Captain Brian Goodwill of The Salvation Army Midland Corps Community Center. “Midland is a strong community and we have wonderful partnership to help meet this great need.”
The Salvation Army is currently accepting monetary donations. Supporters can make a tax-deductible contribution to assist families and individuals affected by the flood by:

The EDS team responds to calls for help from local authorities in times of great need and provides food and beverages, blankets, clothing, temporary shelter and spiritual guidance and comfort to the victims and families of major disasters as well as police, firefighters and other first response personnel at the emergency scene.
