Home Depot teamed up with The Salvation Army Oak Brook Terrace Corps and Community Center
Home Depot has teamed up with The Salvation Army Oak Brook Terrace Corps and Community Center to make feeding their community a little easier. The Oakbrook Terrace Corps currently provides approximately 300 individuals with enough food for the week through their Rescue Food program.
What started as a food pick up program during the pandemic, Rescue Food, has continued as the need has remained great. Home Depot’s foundation, Team Depot, recently learned of the Rescue Food program at Oakbrook Terrace and asked how they could help support the cause.
On Wednesday, December 11th, Team Depot installed three projects at The Salvation Army Oakbrook Terrace Corps, including installing new tile flooring in the facility's existing food pantry area, installing new tile in a new, second pantry area, and fully renovating the front restroom used by clients daily.
In addition to providing all supplies and labor needed for the project, Team Depot is donating a new, commercial-grade refrigerator and commercial-grade shelving which will be used for pantry services.
The Salvation Army’s Oakbrook Terrace Corps assists more than 25,000 local neighbors in need with food, housing, and utility assistance annually and Team Depot's generous donation will ensure these critical services are provided to clients for years to come.
