Salvation Army Officer Honored On Steve Harvey's Show

Dec 6, 2016

The Salvation Army's A.J. Zimmerman was honored for his work with young people in East St. Louis and Chicago on a special “Harvey’s Heroes” episode of Steve Harvey's show. The episode will air Wednesday, December 7 at 2 p.m.

Lt. Zimmerman is currently serving at The Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago where he leads youth fellowship activities. Prior to joining the Kroc Center, he spent many years serving youth and families at The Salvation Army in East St. Louis.

While Lt. Zimmerman shared his touching story of a difficult upbringing in Detroit and the help from The Salvation Army that inspired him to become a Salvation Army officer, Steve Harvey had a special guest sitting in the audience.

You won’t want to miss this tearful reunion that shows all it takes is one person to make a difference in the lives of a family in need or a young person looking for a positive role model. This segment is sure to bring a tear to your eye and a warmth to your heart this Christmas season.
