West Monroe Employees Volunteer with The Salvation Army on their National Day of Service

Jul 9, 2019

More than 125 employees of West Monroe Partners, a national business and technology consulting firm, volunteered with The Salvation Army on June 14 as part of their fourth annual National Day of Service. The Army was one of 38 organizations their employees volunteered with throughout nine cities in eight states.

Chicago-based West Monroe volunteers served at two Salvation Army locations. Those at the Chicago Temple Corps Community Center created gardening beds that will be used by seniors and others in the community, cleaned and organized the food pantry, painted the computer lab, organized storage areas, and designed a warm, welcoming space for seniors to gather. At the Army’s Shield of Hope facility, they preserved the security fence that borders the property and provides a secure space for families at the center.

The National Day of Service is part of West Monroe’s commitment to give back in the communities where its people live and work and is part of the firm’s 1+1+1 initiative, a program through which it strives to donate 1% of its time, 1% of its talent, and 1% of its treasure (profits) to the greater good.

“Our National Day of Service is an opportunity to exhibit the level of change we can make when we work together,” said Susan Stelter, West Monroe’s chief people officer. “While we are proud of the ‘good’ our people do in the community year-round, it is especially inspiring to see our unique culture and camaraderie come to life for a shared purpose on this day.”

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone from West Monroe Partners who worked with us at their 2019 National Day of Service,” said Linda Reiter, volunteer resource manager for the Army’s Metropolitan Division. “Their work will impact the lives of those we serve in so many ways. I want to thank each member of the West Monroe Partners team who gave their very best that day as they worked tirelessly to help us touch lives.”
