Last chance to give at a red kettle
The Salvation Army’s red kettles will vanish when the clock strikes 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve. But it’s not too late to help Rescue Christmas for local families in need.
Between now and Dec. 24, you can double your impact by giving at any red kettle you see or signing up to bell ring. Kettle donations are part of a $1 Million Challenge Match organized by donors to challenge you to help others this holiday season. Will you match their generosity with a donation of your own? Your support will provide food, shelter, financial assistance, and other critical services now and throughout 2021. (Read success stories.)
If you’d prefer to ring bells, you’ll enjoy a safe fundraising activity that includes enhanced social distancing and sanitization measures, with Apple Pay and Google Pay options for touchless giving. In just two hours of ringing, you’ll raise an average of $60 – enough money to provide a day’s worth of food and shelter for a person experiencing homelessness.
Bell ringing is fun, too. Just ask volunteer Diane Christenson, who signed up for 25 hours of ringing this season.
“The Salvation Army does so much for everyone, so I want to help them, too,” Diane said. (Read Diane’s story.)
If you can’t make it to a red kettle, here are three other ways to help Rescue Christmas before the $1 Million Challenge Match ends:
- Give online at SalvationArmyNorth.org/Double
- Call our Donor Services team at 651-746-3494
- Mail a check (write "Challenge Match" in the memo) to The Salvation Army, 2445 Prior Ave. N., Roseville, MN 55113.
