Friday, April 26, is the last day to buy tickets to the annual D.J.’s Hero Awards Luncheon, which will be held at 11:30 a.m. May 7 at CHI Health Center Omaha.
This year’s event is a special 25th anniversary celebration, with special guests joining the keynote speaker, D.J.’s Hero Awards co-founder David Sokol, for an on-stage discussion of how the awards program has positively impacted the lives of students, families, and communities around Nebraska.

The D.J.’s Hero Awards Luncheon was founded in honor and memory of David and Peggy Sokol’s late son, D.J., who lost a courageous battle with cancer in 1999. Over the 25-year history of the event, The Salvation Army of Omaha has—thanks to the generosity of the Sokol family—awarded more than 200 scholarships to Nebraska high school seniors who exemplify D.J.’s perseverance, selflessness and servant-leadership.
