KETV Live Event Helps Kids in Need Go Back to School Prepared

Jul 31, 2024

Those who have thought about collecting school supplies for The Salvation Army/KETV 7 Can Help Kids Backpack Drive, but haven’t yet done so, have the perfect opportunity to give to the drive today, July 31, during the KETV live event tomorrow at Methodist Women’s Hospital, 707 N. 190th Plaza in Elkhorn.

During the event, people will hear from Salvation Army Backpack Drive partners and learn the importance of this drive, as well as how it has grown over the years. People will also, of course, have the opportunity to drop off supplies and backpacks during the event.

This community effort, which has been in existence for over 25 years, helps ensure that underserved children go back to school ready to learn by providing them with backpacks stuffed full of school supplies. The program’s donation phase is underway, and today’s event promises to help many kids in need.

The event runs through 6 p.m., so there’s plenty of time for people to grab some extra school supplies before work, over lunch, or after work – and take them to Methodist Women’s Hospital.

School supplies needed:

  • Rulers

  • Spiral notebooks

  • Erasers

  • Glue

  • Crayons

  • Colored pencils
