Melissa Marvin Appointed to Omaha Advisory Board

Aug 26, 2020

Melissa Marvin, chief service officer at Bank of Bennington, has recently been appointed to the Omaha Advisory Board, which supports the work of The Salvation Army in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro by providing mission-based leadership and strategic guidance.

Marvin joined Bank of Bennington in 2017. As chief service officer, she oversees all strategic, infrastructure, sales, service and marketing initiatives at the bank. Marvin is also responsible for the oversight and implementation of a joint venture company between Bank of Bennington and Finigree, a financial technology firm.

Prior to joining the bank, Marvin worked as a consultant for Metropolitan Community College and held positions at United Way of the Midlands, Vantage Point Performance and Cohen Brown Management Group.

Marvin is a graduate of Leadership Omaha, was awarded the YWCA’s Women of Distinction Award in 2010 and was recognized as the 2017 Woman of the Year by the Arthritis Foundation. She has been involved in leadership service with more than 30 nonprofit and educational organizations across a wide variety of human service and arts organizations in the metro area. Among these roles, she has held board positions at Joslyn Art Museum, Nebraska Arts Council and Girls Inc., and she currently serves on the boards of the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Buffett Cancer Healing Arts Program and Partnership 4 Kids.

Marvin holds a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in communication from the University of Kansas.

“Melissa is an excellent addition to our advisory board,” said Jeff Beckman, executive director of development for The Salvation Army Western Division. “She brings a wealth of professional experience and knows and understands the community of Omaha intimately.”
